All You Need Is Love
This week I’ve been working in Paris, the city of love. I love being there and you can feel the love when you stop for a coffee and take in the pace of this great European city.
When I’m in France, I often think of Émile Coué and his work on self improvement. His work changed many lives and continues to do so. He knew the importance of words. His work was very clever but simple, effective and powerful. If you’ve been on the flagship i2i course, you’ll have learnt about Coué and his work.
When I think about Coué, it reminds me of just how important words are. So what’s the most important word in the world?
I’m sure there are few candidates for the number one word in the world, but I think this particular word covers nearly every aspect of life.
I think the number one word in the world is LOVE.
There’s a fantastic quote from the French novelist, George Sand, which is “Il n’y a qu’un bonheur dans la vie, c’est d’aimer et d’être aimé.” This translates as “There is only one happiness in life, to love and be loved.”
When you love doing something, you’ll find that you do it well. It becomes hassle free and is a pleasure to do it. You’ll have seen someone doing something they love and they’ll make it look easy.
So love what you do and do what you love – this is the key.
Here’s a quick tip, tell yourself about what you love.
Tell yourself everyday how much you love your family, your job, your hobbies, your friends and anything you do. Tell yourself how much you love your life and how much you love those around you. When you tell yourself this, your brain starts to do incredible things, it becomes such a strong thought, so strong in fact, that it becomes reality. (Even if it’s not when you start this!)
You’ll love doing this. Try it and let me know how you get on. Wake up everyday and think about The Beatles “All you need is love”
