W Clement Stone Day
4th May is a special day on the i2i calendar, it’s W. Clement Stone day. Mr Stone was introduced to i2i by his former personal executive assistant, Art Niemann. Mr Stone and Art retired on the same day after twenty one years of working together.
Mr Stone taught us some very valuable life principles. He told us to ‘…make each and every day a positive mental attitude day’ and that ‘Every day above ground is a good day!’ If you have ever been on any of our i2i courses, you’ll know a lot about W. Clement Stone and how important those two statements are.
Mr Stone was born on 4th May 1902 and sold newspapers on the streets of Chicago at the age of six! His positive outlook towards life conditioned his success in business and his philanthropy gave him huge personal satisfaction. He gave over $275 million to charity and modestly once said ‘All I want to do is change the world.’
Mr Stone and his wife Jessie, were married for 73 years, they were childhood sweethearts. He believed ‘regardless of what you are or what you have been, you can still become what you may want to be.’ i2i celebrate Mr Stone’s life and achievements each year by gathering the team and enjoying life together. Whether it’s a walk in the park, helping out with a local charity or doing something you’ve been putting off for a rainy day, then do it on WCS Day. He constantly wrote about making sure you had a ‘positive mental attitude’ to succeed. He told us that whatever ‘the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve.’
Mr Stone knew how to get things done, he adopted a positive mental attitude in every aspect of his life and when it came to doing something that required motivation, he said ‘Do It Now!’ That’s the key to motivation, do it now.
So get out your calendar and write ‘i2i WCS DAY’ on 4th May. Do it now.
When Friday 4th May comes around in a few weeks, make sure it’s a day full of extra special positive attitude and that you have your ‘can do’ hat on. Promise yourself that you will make a concerted effort to believe in something you want to accomplish in the near future, because what ‘the mind can believe, the mind can achieve.’
Remember, the key to motivation is Do It Now, so if this sounds like something you want to be a part of, do it now.
Enjoy WCS DAY!
